A little darker (ok a lot darker) image and I mean that in the luminance not the subject matter.
Just exploring a lot of different techniques, I think on this one I really got the lights where I wanted them and shot them in different places so I could blend the images together. I am also still playing with the lens blur but not as much blur, plus I will go in and work the blur in or out in places.
Plus I had a lot of new outfits to play around with so I have been in a picture taking mood.

I’ve been a little distracted as of late, both with fun things and other things so I thought I would put up a photo that I started a few weeks ago. As you can see I’m still playing with the depth maps, still fine tuning the process. It’s been a lot of fun experimenting
I had been out shopping with my friend Noe and pulled this outfit together out of pieces I had, trying to match the smexy outfit she had on. The only new purchase was the shoes from Maitreya, to give a little bit of color to by monochrome look.

Ok I’ll admit that I saw the GI Joe movie this weekend and for a movie based off of an 80’s cartoon, based off of a toy line it was a pretty good flick. I’ll also admit that I was rather taken by Sienna Miller as Baroness so when I got home I just had to squeeze into my catsuit and head off and get into some trouble
I headed over to my latest photo stalking grounds of SICK (SICK3 this time) and found a spot that gave me the look I wanted, well it was my second choice I couldn’t figure out how to make my first choice work since all the places to stand were phantom
but I’ll keep that spot in mind for something else.
Anywho, as I started setting up the shot I was already thinking about post work on it, and decided to do something I hadn’t tried before (well I had played with it but was still figuring it out). I decided that I was going to play with the depth of field, using the Lens blur in Photoshop, so I made sure to save a depth shot of each setup to my hard drive along with the regular shots.
and here is the depth map for that shot:
I wasn’t sure the look was that noticeably different, but then I put them side by side and you can really see the effect.

There is some potential with this technique and I’m going to explore it a bit more. I also want to figure out the best was to let objects in the foreground go out of focus too for a much more realistic depth of field effect.
[If people are interested in the technique I could go into some depth about my process in another post]
Ok things have been a little grey lately, both with the weather and with the SLOOOOOOooooooooWWWWWW loading of textures, and with a little extra time on my hands I have been playing dress up
I saw over on Re*Myself the other day some things from Cachet so I tp’d over to see what they had that struck my fancy. I picked up a number of things including a coat, this vest and skirt. I had been wanting pink hair for awhile now since when I was in my RL salon and the girl in the chair next to me had the best shade of bubblegum pink. (I have enough sense to know I can’t pull that off in RL but in world I knew I could
) So… when I remembered seeing a pink style of my new favorite hat & hair I started building this outfit, a pair of my favorite boots, a nice men’s silk shirt and to add some warmth Boom’s shoulder warmers and Voila! (as ms. Grace McDunnough said) I look Scrumptious

Ok I’ll admit it I have never been sledding. In fact I have never really experienced snow. There was the one time in NYC where it snowed the weekend I was there but it all melted into slush and frozen puddles by the middle of the day. I use to say growing up that the only time we saw snow was when one of those small low flying planes missed their drop zone, but hey that was back in the 80’s.
But when winter comes to Nevi, I love it. I pull out the coats and boots and get ready to go play. Well this year, my bestest friend in all of SL and in RL too, Liz Gealach, made a toboggan. It can hold 3people, well it has seats for 3, we’ve put more than that on it for a sled tour around the sim.
Each of the seats have 3 static poses and two animated poses (all different), It’s loads of fun
[ Ok I'll disclose that I made the animations and poses, but it really is a fun ride] You can buy the Toboggan at Thistle in Avendale, also at it’s satellite shops at Sway’s Village and at Sugar Mill Shops. There is a Sled-o-Matic in Avendale so you can take it on a 30 minute test ride.
I’ll see you out on the hills
