Haven’t really been up to much lately, I’ve been in a little (ok long) creative slump, BUT I did want to let you know of one thing that I have worked on.
My partner Liz Gealach has a build up at Burning life called Soul Evolution and I did the animations for it. Liz had asked for something joyful and leapy without the bounds of gravity. So I made up five little animations for her.
Please stop buy Soul Evolutions and check out the build (Up til November 1) it really is a lot of fun and a nice place to sit and think.
From the notecard:
Soul Evolution
by Liz GealachThis creation or area to reflect is a 3D interpretation of reincarnation and the evolution of my soul.
I believe that each person must use their time on earth to learn or enlighten their soul. Once we move on we have a brief time to reflect and gain awareness of what we learned so we can then in turn use that knowledge in our next lifetime. “Soul Evolution” is a reflection of that time we have between lives … a time we can see the knowledge we have gained and share it with other souls. Please come inside and walk through time. Reflect on what your soul has learned and what it may be learning right now. Sit on a small colored disc to rejoice in your souls evolution. Hope, Forgiveness, Generosity, and Compassion are all journey’s of learning our soul must take to truly understand and experience the ultimate knowledge of LOVE.

Ok I’ll admit that I saw the GI Joe movie this weekend and for a movie based off of an 80’s cartoon, based off of a toy line it was a pretty good flick. I’ll also admit that I was rather taken by Sienna Miller as Baroness so when I got home I just had to squeeze into my catsuit and head off and get into some trouble
I headed over to my latest photo stalking grounds of SICK (SICK3 this time) and found a spot that gave me the look I wanted, well it was my second choice I couldn’t figure out how to make my first choice work since all the places to stand were phantom
but I’ll keep that spot in mind for something else.
Anywho, as I started setting up the shot I was already thinking about post work on it, and decided to do something I hadn’t tried before (well I had played with it but was still figuring it out). I decided that I was going to play with the depth of field, using the Lens blur in Photoshop, so I made sure to save a depth shot of each setup to my hard drive along with the regular shots.
and here is the depth map for that shot:
I wasn’t sure the look was that noticeably different, but then I put them side by side and you can really see the effect.

There is some potential with this technique and I’m going to explore it a bit more. I also want to figure out the best was to let objects in the foreground go out of focus too for a much more realistic depth of field effect.
[If people are interested in the technique I could go into some depth about my process in another post]
I’ve started a new flickr group for [Lyndz-matic] poses so feel free to join and post your photos using your favorite [Lyndz-matic] poses.

I’ve also put up a new sign at Thistle so people can find the new pose vendor so pop on over and check it out. TP over to Avendale, and head on over Thistle, the firehouse on the west side of the square, and take the ladder or up the fire pole (which btw is one of my first animations
)

Well I’ve made some more poses, not sure what direction I’m heading in. I know I need to do some animated stands and sits but haven’t had much motivation.
They are all for sale at Thistle, in Avendale. These are in the toast vendor without the poster, I’ll get around to that eventually.
I appreciate any feedback
Liz over at Thistle has been nice enough to let me set up some pose vendors up on the second floor of the the firehouse so I can sell some of the poses I’ve been working on over the past couple of months. I’ve got an assortment of stands, sits and laying poses on display up there, you can try them out on the toast stands (hahah) or purchase them in sets from the vendors on the wall.
Head on over toThistle main store in Avendale and take a look.
